Happy Holidays, Bylaws Updates, Jan 10 2025 Meeting, Upcoming Call for New Officers, and Volunteers Needed for Nominating Committee

Happy December, CAM members!   We hope you are enjoying the last days of 2024,  and looking forward to 2025!   We also hope that you are able to treat yourself to some much-deserved downtime this season and spend time with loved ones! 

As we wrap up 2024, your CAM Officers have some important updates for you:

The officers recently met and approved some changes to our bylaws. Please see attachment for review and more details.      Highlights of the changes are:

• • Clarified timeframe, process, and term of office for officer elections (Article IV section 3 & Section 4)
  • Cleaned up language regarding voting and quorum (Article V Section 3 & Section 4).

Our meeting schedule for 2025 will be:

• • Jan 10, 2025
  • March 7, 2025
  • May 16, 2025
  • July 11, 2025
  • Sept 12, 2025 
  • Nov 7, 2025

At the January meeting, we will have the official call for candidates for the elect positions. Those elected to these positions will assume office in July, 2025, serve 2 years in the elect position, and then move into the corresponding officer position for an additional 2 years.    Prospective candidates will be asked to submit a bio or resume by March and the elections will take place in May.   Please consider nominating yourself or another member.   The list of positions and responsibilities is listed on the bylaws.  If you have any questions or want more information about serving, please reach out to any of the CAM officers.

To conduct the elections following the process outlined in the bylaws, we will need volunteers to serve on the nominating committee.   As the outgoing President, I will chair the committee, whose main function will be to review the prospective candidates, confirm eligibility, put forth the slate of candidates for membership voting, and present final voting results to the officers.   If you are interested in serving on the nomination committee, please reach out to mary.golway@yahoo.com by Jan 9, 2025.
